Choosing A Professional Pest Control Company
Well; you have arrived at my site, so you must need some pest control work done. Maybe it’s just general pests such as cockroaches and spiders; or maybe it’s something more serious, like termites.
If it is termites, I hope it’s nothing too serious. I say this because I have had termites in my own home; which was the main reason for me getting into the termite control industry in the first place.
There are a lot of pest companies; some very good, and some not so good. So, before you choose a professional pest extermination company to deal with your pest problem, you need to check them out.
The number one thing you need to ensure when engaging a pest company is that they are fully licensed.
Pest Control Licensing
General Pest License
This license allows a pest technician to deal with general pests like cockroaches, ants, spiders and silverfish.
Open Pest License
To obtain an open license a technician must have a general pest license and then pass a detailed theory and practical course solely on termites and their treatments. If successful, this qualification is added to their General Pest License, which then becomes an Open Pest License.
Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) License
Before a pest control company can use their Open License, they need to be registered and licensed by the QBCC.
The company must prove to the QBCC that they hold the correct qualifications and that they carry specific insurance for the pest control industry dealing in termites.
Once these details are confirmed the company is issued with their QBCC license, and they are free to offer their services to Customers.
Before you engage a pest control company to do any sort of pest treatment at your home or commercial premises, you need to ensure they have a current QBCC license.
How do you know the company you are dealing with is properly licensed before they come to your home?
• Ask them for the details over the phone.
• Check out their website
• Check their license details on the QBCC website.
Always ask to see a pest technician’s license before they start doing any work for you; as this can save you a lot of headaches down the track.
Here at Sunnystate we are fully QBCC licensed, and you are fully protected.
